The Club was formed in late 1974,
Bylaws were written, submitted and approved on January 9, 1974 by
Illustrious Sir Sam Baris, and Worshipful Charles Warren, PM was elected the
founding President.
Membership is restricted to those Nobles of Al Bahr Shrine who are Past Masters
of any Masonic Lodge. Current
membership is in excess of 140. The purpose of the Past
Masters Club is to create a closer liaison between Al
Bahr Shrine and the Blue Lodges of San Diego and Imperial Counties, and to
assist any lodge in our jurisdiction,
upon request, in conferring any of the three degrees of Masonry.
Over the past several years, the Past Masters Ritual
Team has conferred the Master Mason degree in an open atmosphere. Located
within the Cleveland National Forest,
near Mt. Laguna, is Al Bahr's Shrine Camp, where the ritual work occurs, during
the "Annual Shrine Camp" in the summer.
The Past Masters Degree Team is composed of Past
Masters, Inspectors, Officers, Coaches, Current Masters and Wardens,
who are Past Masters, being "recycled through the line" to supplement the lack
of Blue Lodge officers. One member of the Club
is designated "Ritual Director" and makes certain we conform to the ritual
prescribed by the Grand Lodge of California.
Normally on the third Friday of
each odd numbered months and
a dinner meeting with their Ladies on the third Friday of the even numbered
months.
Call the President for the times.
