In 1946 was born an idea that was to be AL BAHR'S first CLOWN UNIT.
Our first appearance in makeup earned a prize for the best costume and makeup
during
the Halloween Dance at Mt. Laguna Shrine Camp. Several appearances were
made subsequent
to that event at parades and charity events. It was two more years,
however,
before the official nod of recognition was given for the group to become a UNIT.
From these modest beginnings we have continued to represent AL BAHR TEMPLE
all over the western half of the UNITED STATES, in both Shrine and Civic
Functions. The UNIT of
CLOWNS has lightened the hearts of young and old at hospitals and other
locations where
sunshine, merriment and laughter are needed.
MEETING
The 2nd Monday of each month at Casa Machado
Restaurant.
Located in the administration building at the Montgomery Field Airport.
Dinner is at 6:00 PM, meeting at 7:00 PM.
