The Al Bahr
Antique Car Club is dedicated to the preservation and the restoration of all
makes and models of antique and classic
cars and trucks, in accordance with State of California criteria, any vehicle 25
years or older is considered an antique vehicle.
Membership is open to all Nobles who share with us an interest in the Club's
goals, aspirations and high ideas. Nobles
need not own a collectable
vehicle to belong to our distinguished Club, attend our meetings or participate
in our activities.
The Club was organized in 1977, with the permission of
Potentate Glenn C. Corey. Word spread like wild fire throughout
AL BAHR
that a super elite Club was being formed, consisting of old car enthusiasts (old
cars, not old enthusiasts).
Interest was immediate and "underwhelming".
Organizational meetings were held at the homes of those Nobles who had any
interest at all, or who had the vaguest idea of what was happening. At
these meetings, bylaws, standing rules, and objectives
were discussed and agreed
upon. A Dispensation was granted in 1978 to form the Antique Car Club,
giving permission for certain
Nobles therein named when duly assembled, with the latest issue of Hemmings
Motor News, to meet, transact business and
confer refreshments
The Club has restored several vehicles. Our
inventory includes a 1926 Ford "AA" 3/4 ton stake bed truck, a 1941 Buick Coupe,
and a 1963 Ford Falcon panel. A 1923 Mack truck was restored and sold and
we have assisted a member to restore a
1931 Model "A" Ford Coupe. Come out
to our shed on Thursday Mornings and join in our restoration efforts.
We are now 80 some members strong and growing. We
have great expectations for the future!
